South Kordofan: Military Intelligence Arrest 31 Activists

On September 23, 2020, 31 activists were arrested by the Military Intelligence in Abu Jubeiha, South Kordofan. The activists were detained for organising a public session in support of the agreement signed between the Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North faction under the leadership of Abdelaziz El Hilu (SPLM-N El Hilu).

The Joint Agreement was signed in Addis Ababa on September 3, 2020, and notably called for a separation of religion and state.
