On 25th May, 2020, an armed group of Fallata militiamen assembled in the Karkar area of Raheed Al-Bardi locality with the alleged intention of targeting members of the Al-Taisha tribe.
The security forces of the area were informed of the mobilisation of the armed group and besieged it forcing their surrender. Many motorbikes and weapons were confiscated, whilst several of the militiamen were arrested and put under investigation.
Authorities are seeking to understand the reason for their mobilisation and those who commanded it.
The Karkar area is administratively part of Raheed Al-Bardi locality and is located between Raheed Al-Bardi localities in the south-west and Um Daafoug in the south-east.
